Aaron Rodgers to draw at Pittsburgh Steelers: This is what Fantasy Football Managers have to expect

Finally, the move we have talked about in theory has finally become a reality because Aaron Rodgers will sign a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers and report to their minicamp. The Steelers now have 87 days after the legal negotiating window of the NFL started for free agents. What a journey.

Make no mistake, Rodgers is an upgrade of which competition the Steelers would have been forced to step between Mason Rudolph and Sixth-Round Rookie Will Howard. There is a big opening between better than that and a rock solution. For me, Rodgers falls somewhere in that gorge.

Rodgers is one of my favorite quarterbacks of all time. His early years at the Green Bay Packers include some of the most sizzling highlights that I can remember that I consumed. He radiated football joy with a lightning -fast release and well -deserved arm arrogance. We do not see that many Quarterbacks perform offenses in that style and brought to the table with the precision rodgers. It was a special moment in time … It has also been a while since we saw Rodgers play at that level. While his return to glory in the midst of a double MVP-Run with Matt Lafleur in a marriage of attacking worlds was sublime, it also slides into a deep history in what is always a fast time in NFL terms.

Over the past three years, Rodgers has the 23rd place in adapted yards per attempt between Quarterbacks. That includes his last year in Green Bay, where a decrease in the game started before his ultimate downfall with the New York Jets. The man we have viewed in recent years has just not been a needle-mover behind the center.

Now the bar for an upgrade for Pittsburgh can be very lower. The Steelers have been in 32nd place in the NFL since 2022, the season after the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger, in Touchdown passes with a meager 46. Team of a laughable Matt Canada attack, a doomed first round pick in Kenny Pickett and a rocking of the most of that is in that imprisonment.

Rodgers can be the slightly under average Quarterback that he has been in the same period and still represents progress about what happened on the attacking side of football for the steelers. But is that enough for me to raise my season-hose expectations for the Steelers as a football team-are quite a one-and-do-and-done playoff team as they have been to adapt to one of their fantasy players in my ranking for years?

No, it isn’t.

Regardless of the presence of Rodgers, the newly acquired DK Metcalf must be a supreme target hog about what a Run-Heavy attack will be. Outside of a year with Matt Ryan in Atlanta, the violations of Arthur Smith are always accelerating in the bottom five. The violations of Rodgers are also historically slow units because he likes to get on the line to make adjustments. That is about the only overlapping this version of Rodgers shares with Smith from a philosophical position. I have many questions about how Rodgers, who has become allergic to attacking the intervening center of the field, will assume with the passing concepts of Smith, who mainly look to exploit that area. Moreover, Rodgers has become overly demanding on his broad recipients in terms of precision and timing as route runners. That is not exactly the power of Metcalf’s game. They are a bit of an oil and water combination; Not so many recipients have been able to meet what Rodgers is looking for in recent seasons from that position.

Finally, I work here under the assumption that Rodgers in Pittsburgh works on something that played the majority of last season with the New York Jets. He certainly went better towards the end of the season, because they would expect how far he got from his torn Achilles-tendon, but that earned him a 20th place in EPA per dropback from week 14 to 18 under Quarterbacks with 100 passings. What if he physically takes a step back at the age of 41? There is a real 2022-Colts’ Matt-Ryan season in the range of results for this combination and, if you let me choose, I would say that it is safer to take that side than some mystical Rodgers-and-Mike-Tomlin that takes place in 2025.

We project and rank Steelers players with the assumption that Rodgers would have been the quarterback for months now. The fact that it actually happened does not change anything; It only removes the need to discuss a 17-game Mason-Rudolph-start-off season from the reach of the results. However, his presence certainly does not mean that one of these Steelers players are risk-free.

In the eyes I am wide open for this situation: a one-off elite passer-by who fits in a mercenarity role for a desperate franchise trying to pay for sins on the Quarterback position and at the same time at the end of an ERA hang with an aging core on defense at the same time. I would encourage you to view this in a similar way if you put together your season projections from 2025.
